Personality:
Nyara is a calm and even tempered woman who tackles problems with a clear mind and sound judgment. Centuries spent underground reading about the issues on the surface has prepared her for many situations, and her ability to remain level-headed is something most would advocate for her. However, because much of her knowledge was gained through books, she is very much naive and lacks real world experience, something she hopes to remedy as she explores the surface world and meets with many other races. Nyara is also a positive force who believes in the good of all people, and wishes for all the inhabitants of Cordali to work together in harmony much like the Volkans. However, she can sometimes be too trustworthy of people, and she apologizes a lot due to her ignorance.

She rarely ever wants to indulge in fighting, but she's learned a great amount of combat training from her father. She prefers to fight with her fists, as they cause less harm than cleaving people in two with an axe or smashing someone into paste with a hammer. She fights to subdue, not to kill.

History:
Nyara hails from the Fryaru Mountains to the South, a territory that neighbors alongside the Teragys Isles of Sigurdra. The Volkans and Teragys here have had a long standing peace thanks to their cooperation through trade goods and building weapons. While the mountains themselves offer a vast amount of ore for plentiful purposes, the Teragys always fairly give what they take, providing the Volkans with their own minerals from the eastern side. Nyaranea was born of clan Cienjit, where her father Vidra was the chief of the underground. Vidra would often be the one to discuss dealings with the Maestrom family, the Teragys bloodline that ruled strongest in Sigurdra. It was through Vidra's kindness and patience that he forged a friendship with the current Maestrom head, and Nyara admired that most about her father. Learning from him, the young woman did everything possible to follow in his footsteps and read about their culture. While the Volkans were able to establish cordial connections with their Teragys allies, there was still racial tension and the looming threat of 'conquering' that the draconic species were well known for. She dreamed of being able to bridge the cultural divide between the two, however the Teragys finally proved their savagery in an attempt to invade the underground Fryaru territory. 

When the current Maestrom family leader headed the charge into the mountains, Vidra did not take the betrayal kindly as the Volkan people pushed back with all their might. Nyara dreaded conflict along with the possibility of hurting the Maestrom heir, as the two of them were often playmates whenever their fathers would converse with each other. Still, she understood her duty and did her best to fight against the horde of draconic warriors.

It was a landslide victory against the Teragys. One of the secrets to winning was thanks to the Volkan way of telepathic communication, all possible through the crystal veins of the underground. With shame cast over many of their heads, the Teragys left the mountains battered and beaten, many of which were forced to the slums due to the shame of defeat. Nyara, along with her father, were devastated that the centuries of friendship would end because of greed. It was then that Vidra ordered his people to cut off contact with the Teragys, a punishment for their selfishness. Nyara, despondent over the conflict, buried herself in tomes upon tomes of history and leadership in the hopes to prevent such fights for the future. 

When the Third Expedition was announced worldwide, the Volkan people caught wind of it and pondered if they should take the offer. Many of the clans from all three mountain ranges in Cordali communed through the crystal veins, hoping to elect a possible ambassador to make the journey over to Prospero City. Vidra, after years of avoiding any foreign contact, decided it was finally time to break the cycle of hatred and bring forth a new era of peace. However, many of the older Volkans were heavily ingrained in their ways, and the best possible ambassador would be someone fresh and new to this cause. He elected his daughter, Nyara taking the title with little hesitation knowing it would be for the sake of her family and the Volkans as a whole. She embarked immediately, anxious yet excited to meet new people on an adventure that will surely bring the races together.
