A delve into the heart...

_{Janine has always been a selfless soul, seeking to please others with what she could make with her own two hands. She believes that the best things in life are the ones that have been cultivated by your own doing; forging your own path and witnessing the fruits of your own labor. The best way she evaluates this is through the company of people, feeling that her self-worth is gauged upon those who accept her and what she can build. It has given her a warm heart and a compassion to fill the needs of friends and family alike, making her work in an intricate and enthusiastic manner no matter what the job may be. Though dedicated to her work, it doesn't stop her from taking a break and having fun with friends when the weight of the day rests on her shoulders. Still, she loves helping others overall, but even more so leaving gifts of her own making such as hand made knick knacks and dressers.}

_{However, Janine's need to please both herself and others causes her to be a bit stubborn about refusal. The young woman can be insistent in paying someone back through favors or gifts alike, much to anyone's chagrin were she to push too far. Much of it stems from a small insecurity within her, as she always had the need to prove herself to her betters. It makes her competitive when performing her job, and while she can work meticulously most times, it only takes a bit of jealousy to overwork herself to the bone. This sense of overclocking can also lead to sloppiness in attire and bodily care, so cuts and grime are a common accessory for her. Outside of formal parties, her manners are pretty akin to those you'd find in a bar, meaning slightly non-existent.}

History:

_{Janine was born thanks to the union between her human father and her elven mother.

It was unlikely for an elf and a human to wed each other, much less a rather well-off elf and a petty human blacksmith. Yet love conquered their doubters, and the two settled far from their original home in a coastal fishing town. It was here that Janine's mother bore four children, the youngest being Janine herself. The locals were somewhat wary of their hybrid neighbors during their stay, however their respect for Janine's father, much of it due to his suppliment of weaponry to combat threats to the village, superseded their doubts. Her eldest brothers, once they were of age, took to their father's business with no qualms and excelled in their field of work. Crafting weapons to do away with common thieves and brigands helped keep the family afloat, while also coaxing the villagers to accepting their fellow townsmen. Janine did her best to help in the forge as well, however felt that she wasn't standing out enough for her parents to notice her. The young girl has always wanted to give something back for all her family has done, but accomplish it in her own unique way.

Janine's teenage years were spent trying to differentiate herself from her siblings, and wanting to prove herself as a capable individual. It didn't hit her until after walking through the town, seeing the transformation of a once barren plot of land into that of a beautiful, inviting house. All that time of indecision has finally culminated to what could be her purpose, Janine's heart filled with excitement and warmth at the idea of building things for people to enjoy, even more so a home for them to stay in! Years go by and she's dedicated much of her time to carpentry, stopping by local incomplete buildings and learning whatever she could from the carpenters. While most construction workers found it rather odd when she was but a child, and found it even more odd that an elf would be so interested in such difficult work, with time they eventually saw her as a valuable asset to many of the town's projects. It helped a bit knowing that she was the daughter of one of the most reliable workers in town. They showed her the reigns, easing her into the job brick by brick. The young naive girl soon sprouted into a full-grown woman who's developed a body and mind for intensive, hard labor. While she garnered praise from her peers, she truly felt the most bliss when her family acknowledged her achievements.

Years go by within the humble town, and while Janine was hard at work sawing a 4x4 she had received a letter from one of her brothers. He mentioned that she might be interested in giving it a look, and when she opened the decorated envelope her eyes sparkled at the contents within. A chance to move to a new town? With the prospect of landing a job helping its development? Janine was all for this, however her parents were worried as she's made a living for herself already. Yet, despite their protests, the young girl felt it was time to fly the nest. She wanted to work on new projects that this new town might hold for her. And so with heavy hearts, her family soon caved in to their daughter's wishes, letting her board the Eclair Express to a world unknown.

Who knows? Maybe with time, it'll be friendships that could be built instead of just the hallowed halls of a building...}

Additional Info:

- The scar that parted her eyebrow was because of a forging accident when she was little. Those follicles haven't healed since.
- Aside from her work, she has a fondness towards carving things. Wood works charm here very much, sculpting things with her knife during off time.
- Janine received her utility belt from her dad, a gift for her 21st birthday. It has blacksmith-like influences despite its purpose.
- While Janine usually abhors wearing dresses, she'll cave in during formal balls and parties. Much of this is due to her mother's influence.
- She can eat raw tomatoes, which is pretty nasty.
- Many a times has she avoided getting her ears lopped off while working the saws.
- She bites her lip when frustrated, often leading to cuts and teeth marks.
- Handmade anything will make her eyes light up like a Christmas tree. Just make sure it's from the heart!
